Watermark Parents: What's my purpose?

Dear Watermark Parents,
Just a reminder that there is no Parents Bible Study this week, please attend the Prayer Group or other local Bible Studies.

Watermark Parents: We have never seen anything like this

Dear Watermark Parents,
We will meet this Saturday at 7:30 to share the same Gospel passage as our kids. The Gospel shows us Jesus saw the faith of the paralytic and told him "child, your sins are forgiven" and "rise, pick up your mat, and go home." The man was healed and everyone was astounded and glorified God, saying, "We have never seen anything like this."

It was a very memorable day last Saturday, while Wendar and I took part of the Valentine's 25th Year Anniversary blessings with the Bishop (see event blog/pictures), our kids went to Berkley's famous People's Park to serve lunch for the homeless (see Brandon and Daniel's blogs). We all had a life changing experience.

Let's come together and share some songs and prayers, share our joy, our pains, our fears, our hope, and our frustrations, and together we will see what amazing things God has done in our lives and what's in store for the future.

又到了一年一度 TJ 報名的時候. 這工程浩大, 費時費錢又費力, 令主辦人擔心, 傷腦筋的事, 我有點私心

的建議 core team 停辦 算了. 這些勇敢的家長們, 看到年輕人在這 TJ project 中能得到的好處, 都願意

再努力下去.

既然如此, 我就自告奮勇, 寫信鼓勵大家把握機會, 讓你家的年輕人, 去體驗一下 常年呆在 他們 comfortable

zone 裡永遠無法感受到的體驗. 至於已去過的, 仍想去的年輕人, 更要鼓勵他們, 讓他們去. 因為, 很多的

leadership, 在第二年, 第三年, 才有機會發展到極至.

Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.

Dear Watermark Parents,
We'd like to resume the Bible studies for parents on odd Saturdays of the month, so people can attend prayer group and other Saturday Bible studies on even Saturdays. Please join us tomorrow night 2/7.

Our Gospel this week is from Mark 1:29-39 (http://www.usccb.org/nab/readings/020809.shtml), the beginning of Jesus' ministry with healing and preaching. I'd love to share my personal experience in the beginning of my faith journey as well as my experience from the workshop last week. As today's scripture reading says "Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever", we know that he is with us and loves us always. Let's enjoy our journey with joy and hope.

Watermark parent meeting - September 20th/Amy Li

Dear Parents:

Last Saturday we had a wonderful potluck dinner. Thanks to all of you who participate it. Patrick has explained why the young adults want to lead the Watermark high school kids in our community. They felt guidance, especially religion guidance is very critical to their age. In a few years, our kids will leave us to college to pursuit their future with very minimum help from us.  If we can prepare them now, then we probably do not need to worry about them while they are away. Because they know what is the true value in their hearts.

I felt extremely fortune to have so many young adults devote their time to our kids. They are willing to help but they need our support.This year we have more kids and parents from San Mateo Church, we need to thank Alice Tong (Andrew's mom) keep inviting new friends to our group. And we have some new kids and parents from the Fremont Church too. Our group is growing which means we need even more support than before.

Maybe you won't come to Watermark in a regular basis, but please still come to join our discussion to let us hear your thoughts. We also need parents to bring snacks for the kids in every Watermark meeting. The Worship team ( currently 5 or 6 people ) always come at 5:00 PM to practice their songs till 7:00 PM. We need parents to provide simple supper for them.

Please join us. If you cannot make it this Saturday but willing to help,  please e-mail me.

The parent meeting time for this Saturday is 7:30 PM till 9:30 PM at room #2.

Watermark-This Saturday, Sep 13th/Amy Li

Dear Parents:

After the long summer, we are going to have the Watermark again from this Saturday. It will be regular Bible study activities plus a potluck. The time is from 6:30 PM till 10:00 PM at the lower Church.
The food assignments is followed;

Young Adults - Main Dish/Salad
Seniors - Main Dish
Juniors - Appetizers
Sophomores - Desserts
Freshmen - Drinks

The parents are welcome to stay. Hopefully we could discuss and bring up some thoughts about the parents' group activities for this coming year.

Watermark parents activity - May 24th

Dear Parents,

We do not have any activities tomorrow. But the kids
will have a party. Thanks to Emily Chang's mom Sandy
from San Mateo Church to bring them the snacks.
Tomorrow night will be their last gathering for this

Tomorrow night the kids will have their regular
meeting. But the parents will have a dinner gathering
at Hong Fu Chinese restaurant in Cupertino at 7:30 PM.
NO Bible study.

Watermark parent activity - this Saturday, May 10th/Amy Li

Hi Parents,

This coming Saturday, the 10th, Lawrence Chow will
lead us again to study John 21:1-23.The time is as
usual from 7:45 to 9:45 pm at room #2. The kids' snack
will be prepared by San Mateo parent Alice Tong,
Andrew's mom.

Next Saturday, the 17th of May will have three events.
The first one is the workshop by 蔣範華修女, and the
topic is 比翼雙飛-婚姻中的界線 from 9:00 am to 5:00
pm. Lunch is provided and the fee is $10. Please
e-mail me, if you plan to attend.
The second event is the Tijuana meeting, from 4:00 to
6:00pm. Participate parents and students are required
to attend.
The last event is there will be a parent dinner
gathering at Hung Fu Chinese restaurant at 7:30
pm.Please e-mail me, if you could come. We need the
head counts to make reservation. I will send out a
reminder e-mail again next Monday.
